Capes are trending for this fall. I own a few myself and have always loved the look. They can be a great alternate look to your classic jackets. There are so many options out there now in different fabrics, colors, and patterns. Here are a few of my favorites:
I feel like every Fall, I shop the most out of the year. The transition to the cooler weather gets me so excited! I love summer, but there is just something about being able to pull out my boots and sweaters for Fall. Here is what I am loving for the perfect transition pieces.
{I need this shirt and my local Anthropologie was out of it last I checked. It would be perfect with white pants (yes, I wear them after Labor Day, who follows that rule anymore?) or with jeans and boots!}
{I already picked up this dress from Zara and wore it for our housewarming party. I may have missed the memo that the model is 5' 9'' and I'm not. It still works on me though as a maxi, not a midi, and it is super comfy.}
{Because you (or I) can't have enough striped clothing, I may need to pick up this dress. I first saw it in the maternity version on Instagram, but then I realized that it does come in regular sizes! You can wear it now with sandals and into Fall with scarves and boots.}
{If you are a loyal J.Crew fan like I am, you may appreciate their new lightweight wool Jackie cardigan. I own the cotton version of this sweater, and have had them for like a decade. They hold up their shape really well. I love the new gold buttons on these.}
{These Sam Edelman booties would go with everything. His shoes are so comfy too.}
What's on your wishlist?
I may have laughed at the Halloween and Christmas decorations that have made their debut at some stores recently but the truth is I am ready for Fall. This 90 to 100 degree heat is too much! I enjoy a nice 75 degree weather. So here goes my pre-Fall (the official start to Fall is only a month away!) wish list.
{These tortoise candle holders are so pretty! I love anything tortoise but these could work as vases too}
{How adorable is this embroidered dress? It could be worn now in the summer and can transition into Fall with a jacket and boots!}
{I got this as a sample through my recent Nordstrom beauty purchase, and I may have to get the full size! It's not as pink as it looks and the "oil" part is scary, but it is surprisingly very light and hydrating}
{My favorite pair of leggings will officially need to be retired this year. So sad. You know the feeling, right? These Zella ones have really good reviews so they may be the perfect replacement!}
{These candles are just too hard to resist. Not to mention its adorable packaging! I love a candle with a cute jar that you can re-purpose}
{The perfect Fall jacket}
Sometimes you are just in a mood when you go shopping, and it is hard not to be in a "fall" state of mind with the bombardment of people wearing scarves on Pinterest and the instagram shots of Pumpkin Spice Lattes dancing across your screen. When I opened my bags from my most recent shopping excursion, fall has sunk its hooks in deep. And I don't mind one bit.
Thanks to Lucy's recent post about Oxford shoes, I decided the pair I was eyeing at Target needed to come home with me after all. By the way, they are incredibly comfortable. Yes, I have worn them to work already. They also come in a darker brown color if you are on the market.
There is a Charming Charlie store that opened up right next to my local Target, so I made the mistake of walking across the parking lot to check it out. I say mistake because I bought another scarf, which makes me an official scarf hoarder. Luckily, I don't mind wearing scarves almost every day of the week from October to March, so it should get a good home in the rotation. And navy and tan plaid? Just too classic to leave it behind.
While there, I made another impulse decision to buy a silver equestrian inspired bracelet. Most of my jewelry is gold now, so I decided that silver needed to make a bit of a comeback for fall. The big problem is that this bracelet has a magnetic clasp, which seems convenient, but I lost it the first time I wore it. Luckily someone found it and we were able to reunite, but my next project is to buy an extra latch to secure this better. Do NOT buy magnetic jewelry. It is always a mistake, even if it reminds you of your love for horses.

I took this photo from Lucy's pinterest account. I will blame some of my scarf purchases on being friends with her because she is always posting (and wearing) the best scarves!! via |

Also, is anyone else wearing their class ring? I started wearing mine this spring, and I just find that I never take it off. I know it is not as trendy as a big statement ring, but I think they can make a comeback for fall. Thoughts? What are your impulse fall purchases so far?
I've been slacking on crafts lately. Things have been so crazy at work that I haven't had the time to do much else. But I really want to try to get into it again. I find that once I have the motivation to start a project, they just keep coming. I have a strong desire to go to a pumpkin patch this year and start knitting again. I guess I really am getting old. Are any of you crafty out there? Below are some crafts I've been eyeing on in the Pinterest world. I would love to hear if you have tried any of these or if you have any new ideas!
[Decorate pumpkins with glitter]
[Make a Halloween wreath]
[Knit a scarf]
[Make a gourd garland]
[Or wrap them with yarn]
I usually don't wear a lot of makeup but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in beauty products. On an everyday basis, I just put on BB cream, mascara, touch of blush, and lipstick/lip gloss. Actually, I'm really into lipstick lately. I don't know about you, but I definitely don't think lipstick is a grandma thing anymore (or maybe that is just what I tell myself). Today I share with you my beauty wish list for Fall. Have you tried any of these products?
I don't know what it is about Fall season but I feel like most of the items I lust for during the cooler seasons have the preppy feel. I dig the skinny jeans, button ups, slouchy boots, utility jackets, plaid, flannel, a big old scarf, etc. Casual yet put together. Getting the new catalogs in the mail is making me itch for Fall (too bad it is still 90 degrees out). I love being able to put on a light jacket in the mornings! Weird, I know. Not to mention it also means the State Fair, leaves turning, pumpkin patch, football season, Halloween, chunky scarves, and of course, candy corn.
Now we just need the Fall weather...
