Of course I needed a little blue and white in there!  This is a lid to one of my chinoiserie vases -- I just flipped it over to turn it into a candle holder.

The Entry
This gallery wall definitely came out better than anything else I've done so far.  For the holidays I've kept things pretty simple with fresh greenery and gold ornaments in the chinoiserie I keep out all year round.  By the way these photos are making me realize what a nightmare my entire house is for babies.  I've become my grandmother for sure.

My magnolia wreath is definitely far into dried magnolia mode, so this year and last I've added fresh greenery from around the yard to fill it out with some green.  I've also seen great ideas of people painting their wreaths gold which may give me a good project for next year.

There's no shortage of fantastic formal dining room inspiration for a Thanksgiving table, but sometimes you want to go more casual.  We bought patio furniture during the end of summer clearance season, and instead of moving it outside we've turned it into our temporary kitchen table and chairs.  That open, casual feel of patio furniture inspired the rest of my Thanksgiving setting.  I went straight for my backyard to pair together trimmings from bushes and some of the last blooms from my knock out roses and zinnias that were still braving the last few days without freezing overnight temperatures here in NC.

I know pink isn't the most likely color for Thanksgiving, but I like the idea of bringing your own yard and garden inside. It makes the table feel like a natural expression of your home, relaxed and truly personal.

I mixed a few red chinoiserie pieces with my Johnson Brothers Willow Blue china to pick up on some of the reds, pinks, and oranges in most of the backyard blooms.  These little pumpkins are hanging on for dear life from Halloween, but I think they can make it just a few more days for Thanksgiving.

You can always count on bush trimmings as vase fillers year round.  Tree branches and pieces of evergreen are also great options that you can find around your yard.

Nothing says fall like a little pumpkin infused warm drinks and home made caramels.

One of our absolute favorite booths at this year's Market was that of bright and graphic textile designer, Mary Catherine Folmar of Cotton + Quill.  This Alabama based designer personally draws all of her the patterns used in her textiles, and then has them printed onto fabric right here in North Carolina.  Her work is kind of the definition of what we love here at East Meets South; tons of global and Asian influences in her pattern and design choices, with a mix of preppy colors that would seem at home in any traditionally Southern home.
