If you've been on instagram at all this weekend, you've seen some of the fantastic images from this fall's High Point Furniture Market.  This was the first trip for Lucy and me, and expectations were definitely surpassed!  There was just too much to see, and a lot of it was right in line with our favorite design trend: the Chinoiserie mix.  Here's some of what caught our eye:

Incredible upholstery at Scalamandre Maison by Port 68

Marbled fine china with  gold bamboo utensils by Blue Pheasant

Walls of wall art at instagram favorite Natural Curiosities

Chinoiserie heaven at Bungalow 5

This blue and green mix at Kenian Home was the perfect complete to their line of wicker and rattan furniture!

Foo dog lamps, blue and white pottery, and an incredible bamboo mirror with greek key details?  I mean, this one hit it out of the park. Credits to Lisa Mende Design

And all this time I thought beer pong tables couldn't be stylish. This one from 2 Day Designs

There were so many beautiful ginger jar designs -- definitely safe to say if you are into these Asian pieces like Lucy and I that you'll find plenty of options in boutiques and design stores next year.  These are from Legends of Asia.

I love the trend right now in home decor to layer statement pieces of furniture -- bright colors, and antiques that are highly stylized paired unexpectedly with a more neutral modern look or traditional home. Our generation of Southern home owners isn't going to be doing the entire house in Waverly fabrics; all of the traveling, study abroad programs, and international influences of being raised in a global internet world has led the world of twenty and thirty year old home owners to really embrace a love of culture-mixing.  Just look at the crazy popular styling and color/cultural/pattern mixing overload featured at Raleigh staples like Furbish Studio:
