Happy Friday! This week couldn't have gone slower for me. I'm excited to do nothing this weekend for once, and just relax! Here are some random things on my mind lately.

My husband and I are looking for the perfect solution for our TV situation in the living room. We need something long on the main wall and we were thinking a dresser style furniture would be perfect. Of course we would love to happen upon a vintage looking one like below but the waiting part is so hard.

If you haven't tried this sriracha and roasted garlic bbq sauce from Trader Joe's, you're missing out. It is so yummy - spicy, sweet, and garlicky.

We finally put up our gallery wall in our living room the other day. They are from Pottery Barn and are still available here. They come with a handy kit with templates so they were easy to figure out. Now I just need photos!

How cute is this dress?! It seems perfect especially for the hot weather we are having right now. When it is this hot, all I want is a piece of fabric on me. Dresses everyday.

Living Room Update: Ferns in the Fireplace

If you read my post here, you know that I am so excited to update our living room from this dark wood paneled dungeon into a more neutral and cozy space. We painted the walls in Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray, and we couldn't be happier about the results. I know it's called "gray" but honestly it is more beige than gray. It may be the lighting in our room because I have read online that some people feel that it looks more gray to them. The red brick fireplace was painted in white so the contrast is just what I was looking for.

Excuse the empty mantle - I'm searching for the perfect piece of art to put there. It may take time considering I may be the most indecisive person on this planet. Anyway, we knew that this wood fireplace was never going to get used because we don't want to mess with it and honestly in N.C., it just doesn't get that cold. Don't get me wrong though, I love a fireplace but just prefer a gas one.

I've been researching on what I can do with my fireplace and found the perfect solution - ferns! I've thought about candles, faux firewood, etc, etc, but I just love the look of ferns there. Of course I dream about having a fiddle leaf fig tree but unless my black thumb decides to turn green overnight, that just isn't happening anytime soon.

My husband brought 2 ferns for me. Here is to hoping I keep them alive. He has the green thumb in our relationship so I'll just stay far away from them.

We also purchased 2 accent chairs and I have my eyes on some stool benches. Hopefully the room will start feeling full soon! Stay tuned for more -- or you can follow along on my instagram!

Living Room Makeover Inspiration

When we purchased our house, one of the first rooms we wanted to tackle was the living room. It was scary. When I walked in there with my husband and our realtor, I had never seen anything like it. Dark wood paneling on all the walls with dark shades on the windows and red brick fireplace. It was like a dungeon.

Yikes, right? Well thanks to watching endless amounts of HGTV shows and my obsessive Pinterest stalking, I knew this room could transform with a little bit of paint (well, a lot of paint), new lighting, painting the fireplace, and lighter shades or curtains. I'm envisioning a brighter room with a cozy feel.

Have I mentioned how indecisive I am? Picking out paint colors is so confusing. I swear these are all different.

But I finally decided on Benjamin Moore "Edgecomb Gray". I'll keep you posted on the outcome shortly!

Leather Sofas

Okay, so call me crazy, but I have, all of a sudden, been really attracted to leather sofas. My husband once again wins his case about leather sofas, I guess! I think I always thought they looked cheap and didn't fit with my "style" but I have changed my mind on that (I know, shocking). I have always loved white or ivory upholstered sofas. White everything. Recently my parents purchased a gorgeous ivory leather sofa and I was slightly jealous. Am I crazy or is this just the practial, sensible, and grown up decision that I will have to make? Living with our 70 lb fur ball has changed my outlook on so many decor related things, I can only imagine what will happen when I have kiddos in the future.

Crushing on navy blue lately. I know it can be dark for some spaces but I think a navy kitchen is so chic with gold accents. I also love the navy front door. Is there a color that you are loving lately?
