Our Wedding Day
8:39 AM
It's our anniversary weekend! It is so hard to believe that our wedding was a year ago. We were engaged for about a year and a half before we were married. We definitely took our time with the wedding planning and it was mostly stress free. I did not have a wedding planner but our amazing venue at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner had a wedding specialist there, and I honestly have no idea what we would have done without her. She took care of things I would have never even though of. If anyone is looking to get married in Northern Virginia, I would highly recommend that you check out the venue there.
We only looked at 3 venues in person, all hotels in Northern Virginia, but when we saw the ceremony space at the Hilton, I knew it was perfect. I wanted the outdoor feel without actually being outside and their atrium is just beautiful!
Not to mention, every single one of our vendors were a dream to work with. From the cake vendor to our DJ to our florist, I love them all so dearly and hope that I can work with them again in the future. They were all so patient with my indecisiveness and made our day just the way we wanted it to be.
I was especially obsessed, and still obsessed to this day, with our flowers. I would say that flowers were the most important part to me anyway, and Barbara at Growing Wild took such good care of me. She really understood what I wanted and helped me pick out every single flower that were in our arrangements. Peonies are my favorite flowers, which were unfortunately not in season when we got married, but Barbara did not let that stop her from making sure I had my dream bouquet.

We knew having our wedding 5 hours away from North Carolina, where most of our guests were, would be somewhat challenging. Luckily they loved us enough to not mind travelling and it was literally the best day of my life. They all say that your wedding day flies by, but I honestly did not feel that way. My mind operates on real time and I enjoyed every minute of our day.
I just love this picture below. How silly are our friends? Our photographer and videographer captured every minute of our ceremony and reception - which I am so glad they did!
